Painting

Another favorite activity at our house is painting. Grant does a lot of this at preschool, so I was way happy, when I pulled out our water colors, and he already seemed to know what to do. One thing I have to keep reminding him, is to put water on his brush. Otherwise, he gets really upset, when the color doesn't show up like he wants it to. Audrey even got in on the fun, but since this picture was taken, the picture she is making is the only one I have gotten from her. She just like to dip the brush in the water, and call it good. Silly girl!

The masterpiece.
Grant and I write his name and the date on them, and then we hang them on the fridge, or up in his room. He made a lot of paintings this summer! :)

Carousel Cruising

James and I took to the kids to the Denver Zoo for part of my birthday weekend. It was way hot to say the least, so one of the first things we did to get out of the hot, hot sun was to ride the merry-go-round. James and I went in sections, so one of us could take pictures. I'm glad we caught Grant:

He looks terrified, and it only got worse from here:

This was at the end of the ride. Instead of progressively liking it, he progressively got worse!

Audrey's turn was a bit better. Like I said, we went to Denver Zoo on a hot day, and she does not take in the heat like her brother. She tends to get a little on the lethargic side. This was just before we dumped some cool water on her to cool her off. After that, she was her old self!

Her turn on the merry-go-round went like this:

She did not want to sit on one of the animals, and was perfectly content to ride!

We also took a train ride around the zoo:

I think she liked this better than the merry-go-round!

Grant liked seeing all of the animals. It was such a hot day, even the animals were staying in the shade. Do not recommend Denver Zoo in July...too stinkin' hot!

Spray Smiles

In the summer, we have to get creative at my house for certain ways to entertain the kids. Who knew a spray bottle could capture so much attention from a 19 month old? She was so excited to figure out how it sprayed, and then shocked at what it finally did....

Too funny!

Victory

Cooper won victorious after he took a sucker from Audrey, which is her treat of choice. He looked so silly, I had to take his picture!

Grant's favorite thing to do isto go outside. One day, in the summer, I found him already outside, with his shoes on the wrong feet, and his drawers nearly down to his knees. I was way proud of him, that he could put his shoes on his feet without being frustrated!

He was also so excited, he forgot to put his socks on. Love this kid!

Lunch Like a Big Girl

I thought Audrey looked so grown up at the table, after church one Sunday. She did so good, sitting up at the table and feeding herself a chicken patty, which is one of her favorite foods.

Yard Sale

So most everybody probably goes to yard sales, I am not one of those people. Yard sales are huge here in Casper. It seems like everyone is always putting up signs around town, and you can even find lists of them in the paper. It's not like I have anything against yard sales, I just can't seem to find anything good. I just don't have that knack. I don't know what made James and I decide to go to one, but we did. I went to one just a street over, and found this caterpiller toy for Grant, and then went to one and found this sandbox. The kids adored both toys, so maybe I will be heading to another garage sometime soon.:)
