Two Kids

What can I say about this little boy? He is full of energy! He loves to play with cars, watch movies, and play on the iPad (he is super good at it too). He is best friends with his sister, even though they can fight. He is super smart. He loves to read books (he is great at it!) He gives the best hugs and kisses around, and we don't know what we would do with out him!


This little girl is so independent. She definitely has a mind of her own. If you want her to do something, you have to make her think it is her idea, or she won't do it! She is very lovable. She is my snuggly girl. She loves to curl up with me and just be. It is wonderful! She puts up with a lot from her older brother, and definitely knows how to take of herself. We love our little Audrey!

Comfy?

I love the swing in our basement. A lot of times, after Grant gets home from preschool, I will put on a movie while I start dinner. I walked down there to find Grant like this:

Annual Fall Drive 2012

Every year about mid October, James and I get excited about taking a drive up Cedar Mountain to look at all of the fall colors. We love living here in the mountains where the colors are so apparent, and it sticks around for a little while. We were a little early this year, but the views from the mountains sure didn't disappoint!

The County Fair 2012

One of the many activities we tried to do on the weekends to get out of the Pink House was to go to the fair. The kids had a good time, but it was really expensive. I think in years to come, if we want to go on some rides, maybe we will just head to Lagoon! Taking pictures of them was fun though!




Grant's hair is so long! We cut it shortly after this, and it grew in some more, but not curly. I miss those blonde curly locks!

The lines at some of the rides were non-existent. The kids just walked on to this one.







Sadly, this is the only picture I got of the Ferris Wheel. James is sitting on the bottom seat waiting to be unloaded with Grant. We all went at the same time. I actually swallowed my fear of heights for a few minutes, because Audrey sure wanted to ride. It didn't help to hear James in back of us yelling, "What's that sound? I think we are going to fall!" Yeah, he's real funny. Audrey loved it though, and even wanted to rock the seat. I put a stop to that real quick!


















When riding the boats, you are not supposed to put your hands in the water. Tough to do for little ones on a hot day.

First Day of Preschool

These cute kids are getting ready for the first day of preschool. Only Grant will be going, but I couldn't resist getting Audrey a backpack as well so she could pretend. They love playing with these together. During the summer, Grant went to preschool every Tuesday and Thursday from 9-11. This gave Audrey and I some time to have some fun of our own. Then, when Grant came home, they could have some fun for themselves.

Cheering Up Flowers

Isn't this little girl adorable? I just love her. We were in the Pink House when this was taken. See those purple and yellow flowers? Those are the cheering up flowers my sweet husband brought for me after a rough (for me) meeting at Grant's preschool. When this was taken ( Summer of 2012) Grant was making progress, but not enough to show up in a preschool setting. I attended a meeting with his teacher, thinking we were going to discuss goals, and where we wanted to be at the end of the year. She had other plans. I found myself sitting across from the "autism specialist" and that just did me in. I was so not ready for this. It was not the meeting I thought I would be having. Needless to say, I was a wreck going to pick up the kids after it was over. And, James now goes with me to every meeting I have with Grant's school and they have gone a lot better.

The flowers did their trick though. And my sweet little ones could not leave them alone!


I just couldn't resist taking a few more!

Our Summer Catch Ups

Yes, it has been a long time since I posted, and I am looking at our blog and realizing that The last time I posted was mid summer, so here is some more of our first summer in Cedar. The rental that we were living in left a lot to be desired, but I wanted the kids tom have as much fun as possible in the "summer house," so the play pool came to the rescue. the kids adored playing in it. this was taken at the end of June, and I was nervous about Audrey being in it, since she was so very new at potty training. We didn't have any accidents, but she kept dragging me to the bathroom to go. So funny!




Fourth of July was so fun in Cedar. We live in a very patriotic city, and the parade was awesome. We invited my parents and Kirk to come with us to the parade, which excited the kids, but I think it may have been to hot for the folks:
