1. My full name is Jaime Lee Killpack.
2. My maiden name is Dougherty and I was super happy to get rid of it!
3. I married James when I was 2 months shy of my 21st birthday. I thought I was so old, but I was really young back then!
4. I met James while working at ZCMI. I worked in Housewares and he was a "dockboy."
5. We have been married 8 years this month.
6. I teach first grade. It's the only grade I have ever taught!
7. My favorite place is Disneyland. Can't wait to take my family.
8. I recently had my first child, Grant James, on April 8th, 2008.
9. I have a pug named Cooper.
10. I have been to Mexico and Canada, and can't wait to venture to Hawaii sometime soon.
11. I faint at the sight of blood (especially my own-yuck!)
12. I was on the tennis team in high school, but didn't really learn how to play until I took a class in college.
13. I have managed to get pulled over 5 times and have never gotten a ticket!
14. I have been in 5 car accidents, and in 3 of them I was the driver.
15. I once snuck out of the house with one of my friends, and stayed out most of the night.
16. My sister told my mom the next day.
17. I love old movies! So classic!
18. I love to travel places with my husband.
19. I'm terrified of heights, but have managed to go on the scary roller coasters after coaxing from James.
20. In the eight years we have been married, we have moved 6 times. UGHHHHH!
21. We tried for four years to get pregnant and finally conceived Grant after 7 artificial inseminations, a laporoscopy and D and C, 2 fallopian tube checks, and 2 months of being on Clomid, 2 years of taking those ovulation kit tests, and 9 months of taking basal body temperatures every single day. (It was so worth all of it!)
22. I have been on a cruise to Catalina Island, and Ensenada Mexico. I had already been to both places before the cruise.
23. I have spent 18 hours in a hatchback economy car in the middle of July with my two older sisters in the backseat with me, and without air conditioning. How did we survive?
24. I was the youngest and then, surprise! My parents had another baby. I have a 12 year old younger brother. (You just never know!)
25. I caught my first real fish at Ferron Reservior when I was 23 years old.
26. I have been towed home from a family vacation twice! Both involving the same car.
27. I spent a week with my grandparents in Tooele, Utah when I was 14, and I loved every second I got to spend with them.
28. I hiked Angel's Landing, but I think I am too afraid to do that again!
29. I was never a dog lover until we had trouble having babies. Now I can't imagine life without Cooper!
30. James and I went to a James Bond movie on our first date, and then chatted about the top ten TV shows of the century.
31. I have kissed two people.
32. I learned how to snow ski when I was 13 at a friends birthday party in Brianhead.
33. I found out the church was true for myself when I was 17 years old.
34. I love having the missionaries over for dinner.
35. James and I want to serve a mission together someday.

Blessing Weekend
Well it finally happened. James and I blessed Grant last Sunday. Such an amazing weekend. We had our families from Utah here at our house, and it was just so fun to see everyone. More importantly it was fun for everyone to see our baby! Grant got so worn out from being passed to everyone, and he looked so handsomely adorable in his little blessing outfit. We had our families over for a luncheon after sacrament. Unbelieveably we had enough room seat everyone. So fun. Although I have to say, that I am glad he's blessed, but it also makes me feel sad, cause I know he is growing up. Silly, I know, since he is only 2 months old, but the time goes so fast. Anyway, we have such an amazing family to travel all the way up here to see our little boy. We are truly lucky!

Finally...
Even though it has already passed, I can't let it go completely by without acknowledging it... I love Mother's Day! Hallelujah! I can't believe that I can finally recognize this holiday. It seems like forever ago when I would secretly wish that I could be a mom and here I finally am with my amazing little boy! I had such a great day! James took great care of me! He made me a yummy breakfast of German pancakes and bacon. Grant and James gave me one of those nifty digital photo frames which we eagerly figured out, and then James made me a delicious dinner of steak and potatoes in a creamy cheesy sauce. It was so good. Even better... James cleaned up everything!I have the sweetest husband. Now I can't wait to go to church and have Grant sing in the primary. Our primary kids are so cute! I can't wait till Grant is one of them, but I love having him be our small little baby!

Our Little Miracle
Our little baby boy was born on April 8th at 5:48 p.m. He weighed in at 6 pounds 2 ounces and he was 19 inches long. He's our little peanut! He's got James wonderful features and long fingers like his mom! His name is Grant James Killpack and he was born on Grandpa Killpack's birthday! He's also our brave little boy. He had a hard time getting started. On his 7th day with us he started to have seizures. We were already in the hospital because of his jaundice situation ( a blessing in disguise) and the nurse was feeding him at 10:30 at night and he had a seizure which lasted about 40 seconds. At about 12:30 he had another one and this time I was awake to see 3 doctors and two nurses crowd around my newborn and just look at him with these worried looks on their faces. It was frightening! The nurse told me what happened, and even told me to go back to sleep! How on earth was I supposed to sleep when my baby was seizing? I called James and told him what was happening. The nurses were so good and called the doctor on call and he came right down and took a look. Then another two hours later, my little baby had another seizure this one lasting longer than a minute. He stopped breathing and the nurse tried to call a code blue to pediatrics, but the phone didn't work. Luckily, he started to breathe again on his own, and the doctor decided to put him on some seizing medicine, and they also did a CT scan which came back normal. I called James and he came down to the hospital. The doctor arranged for us to be life flighted (Grant and I) to Denver Children's Hospital. James took our car and drove down. He got a good hour start ahead of the Life Flight, so I was only by myself for a half an hour at the hospital. When I saw the huge bed they had to put him in, it was so overwhelming and I couldn't believe this was happening to us! I'm one of those people who have to know exactly what to expect. When I had Grant, I had to see the labor room, the mirrors, and the lights, and I had to take a class all beforehand, so I wouldn't freak out. Seeing the huge seethrough bed and my little baby in it, was so much to handle. I look back now and wonder how on earth I ever sat there and watched all of this without losing it. Then I remember also, that James gave Grant and I a blessing that would both be strong to handle the flight and the upcoming events ahead, and that is exactly how I was able to go through all this. Anyway, this happened on a Wednesday morning. The people at the Children's Hospital were all waiting for James and I when we arrived. They told us where we could stay, we met with the doctors and heard all they had to say so far about the situation (they were going to perform lots of lab work and tests), they completely oriented us to the hospital and were so nice! On Thursday, James and I were lucky to have my mom come up to the hospital to see Grant for the first time. So not how I wanted to introduce everyone to my newborn, but I was so glad my family came to see us! They were there when the doctors told us about Grant's MRI results and what happened to cause the seizures. What happened was that Grant had a stroke when he was being born, sometime in the birth canal. The MRI showed a blood clot which had formed on his brain which caused the stroke, and eventually led to the seizures. He is still on seizure medication and will go back for a follow up appointment in 3 months.
We are so blessed to have our little boy with us. James and I are so thankful that we are finally home with him, and we are finally getting into a routine. He's finally been home longer than he has been in the hospital! Every day is such a fun treat to be home with our little miracle baby boy! Thank you everyone for your prayers and thoughts! They have truly seen us through!

37 Weeks and Counting. . .
Well, I guess I can't complain too much about my pregnancy. I haven't been sick (like throwing up sick), I've still been getting decent nights sleep which is a huge blessing, and I had been getting great reviews at my doctors visits as well, so I was really shocked when I went to my appointment on Monday and found out that my blood pressure had shot up, and my lab work was funny! So, my doctor placed me on bed rest for the remaining amount of my pregnancy. Now I am all about relaxing and taking it easy, but it is a different story being confined to your couch or your bed! So bored! James has been wonderful about keeping our house clean, and well stocked with food. He's even offered to bring in some movies and books for me, so nice. James and I had just finished with the nursery the weekend before, and I totally cleaned my classroom so my substitute would be able to find everything, so I feel okay about being home, just not in love with being so bored! Tomorrow should be better with James here, and hopefully our baby will arrive healthy and safe! Thirty-seven weeks is considered full-term, but my doctor said the longer he can stay in there the better! So... does anyone know of any good movies to rent?

Our Last Easter
Well, James and I have been long awaiting the arrival of our little one, but we have so loved the time we get to spend alone together! This Easter was our last holiday of just being James and Jaime. Let me tell you how wonderfully exciting we were! I was so excited to make devilled eggs this year, since its a tradition of our family to have them. I made them, James baked a ham, we made a salad. This was all there was to our Easter holiday. No Easter Bunny, no baskets to fill, and no eggs to roll down some random hill. Just me and James together for our last holiday. Just us. And I loved every minute of it!
